Hey! I’m Yusuf Bashir, a 20-year-old Computer Science major with a deep passion for cybersecurity, tech tinkering, and breaking things. I spend most of my free time doing CTF challenges, pwning Hack The Box machines, and reverse engineering IoT devices to see how they work, and how they break.

My blog is where I share the journey: writeups for CTFs and vulnerable machines, step-by-step guides on interesting exploitation techniques, robotics I've built, hardware hacking, and the occasional deep-dive into random rabbit holes I’ve fallen into (think IoT firmware reversing, cool OSINT techniques/discoveries, and more random stuff).

I hold several certifications including:

eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester (eJPT)

eLearnSecurity Certified Professional Penetration Tester (eCPPTv2)

CompTIA Pentest+

CompTIA A+

CompTIA Security+

Currently, I’m working on projects that blend hardware hacking and cybersecurity—like reversing cheap IP cameras from sketchy vendors, building dropboxes for red teaming with Raspberry Pi, and exploring ways to bypass physical security through RFID/NFC attacks and lockpicking. I'm also building robotic spytech that has been used by intelligence agencies for fun.

My long-term goal? To work at the intersection of offensive and defensive security, with a focus on national and global cyber defense. I’d love to contribute to meaningful missions where cybersecurity directly protects people—whether through consulting, research, or hands-on operations.

Thanks for stopping by—hope you find something useful, or at the very least, interesting. Feel free to reach out or connect if you share similar interests or want to collaborate!
